Free People Libby Convertible Dress (here)

House of Harlow Tanta Crosshatch Pendant Necklace (here)

This whole week I had planned on going to Slot Canyon, CA. It’s about 3.5 hours from Los Angeles and is quite remote. Last minute I decided against that plan because I didn’t think it was wise to take such a long remote trek alone…so, today I was a tourist in Venice Beach, CA. As always, Venice was lively, entertaining and full of great people watching opportunities! It was a bit grey and cool, but thankfully, there were small pockets of sunlight to keep me warm enough while I rode around enjoying the sights!

Solar Eclipse

August 21, 2017

Photo taken with my phone behind my eclipse glasses (my camera was having trouble focusing on the eclipse rather than the glasses)

Today, the United States experienced a total solar eclipse in certain states within certain cities of those states. The states in which you were able to see a total solar eclipse are: Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina. Here, in California, we experienced a 70% solar eclipse meaning that we experienced the moon cover 70% of the sun. This happened at exactly 10:20AM, today for just a couple of minutes. Thankfully one of my colleagues had some extra eclipse glasses from the California Science Center, to let me borrow!

A fun, but competitive game of ping pong

Laura looking out to the sunset, from The Bungalow

Our last stop of the night was a lounge that I don’t know the name of, but had a lovely lit colorful wall

I hadn’t been here in quite some time, but coming back reminded me of how much I enjoy this place! The ping pong, the people, and the sunsets are good reasons to visit The Bungalow, Santa Monica. Laura and I had a lovely time!

Ground floor indoor pool. You see this as you walk in from the entrance

One set of hot baths in the basement. There were many others

Aqua class

Outdoor rooftop/ street level swimming pools

This morning I treated myself to the Gellért Baths. The Gellért Baths are situated in a complex that consists of the Hotel Gellért in Buda, and other swimming pools that you may access with your one-day pass. There are baths in the basement, ground level, and rooftop. You can spend all day here. There are lockers and towels that are available to use for a small fee. I did my best to dip in all the baths before I left. This place is a must visit!
